About

b. 1986, HK.

Forrest Lucas.

I’m a designer, fabricator, maker, hacker, among other things. I spend my time analyzing logistics and fab methods in my everyday life; I can’t help but design my environment, and hack all my stuff. I live and breathe my passions, inside and out of work.

Today I am the Lead R&D Engineer for Cooler Master Peripheral. Designing and Prototyping custom peripherals for their future product lines, utilizing additive manufacturing and CAD to create polarizing designs. It’s been an interesting experience managing products and vendors in China.

Previously I was an Industrial Designer at Two Bit Circus, an experiential design company, at the intersection of technology and spectacle. We engineer entertainment that is imaginative and interactive, blurring the line between physical and digital playgrounds to create a new world of social amusement.

After 5 years with Two Bit, We opened our Micro Amusement Park in Downtown Los Angeles. Featuring custom designed Story Room Experiences, Virtual Reality Arcades, Carnival-Style Attractions, and Retro Arcade, Two Bit Circus was master-planned and built by us. We had the opportunity to design our story and experiences, play with circus aesthetics, and build interactive games to our own narrative.

I have served on the ACM Siggraph Studio Sub-Committee for fiveyears to date, just recently completing the position of Studio Chair, a venue within the conference specializing in bringing tactile learning and interactive techniques to attendees. The ACM Siggraph is a special interest group of the Association for Computing Machinery, focusing on an international community of researchers, artists, developers, filmmakers, scientists, and business professionals who share an interest in computer graphics and interactive techniques. Join us in DC at Siggraph 2020.

In the beginning, I worked for RIVA Creative,  a themed entertainment creative firm built from the ground up for Bollywood and Motiongate parks in Dubai. I served on the graphics team, creating themed environmental graphic schematic and detailed design packages.

From managing IP assets for presentations for two theme parks, updating 3d models of the project, assistance in building a physical model of a ride, and production of design detail drawings of environmental signage, I moved around quite a bit.

I moved on from Riva to Two Bit at the completion of the design phase of Bollywood and Motiongate parks.
