For Halloween 2016, I was determined to outdo myself, because I hadn’t done anything years previous. So, here’s my over-engineered, pretty close representation of the Transistor sword from the game Transistor. It’s a solid block of 1″ thick acrylic, with a machined pattern on both sides. It’s lit with individually addressable leds, and the rest of the parts are 3d printed parts. It took about 2 weeks of moonlighting to finish it.
I tried to design to the game as close as I could, with many engineering and time contraints effecting me. This is the concept art from the game, and it’s gorgeous.
